Chelsea to host LaLiga leaders Real Madrid in crucial Champions League Clash

Chelsea welcome LaLiga giants Real Madrid for the first leg of their Champions league quarter final tie at Stamford bridge on Wednesday. This match comes at the back of a shocking 4-1 defeat to 14th Placed Premier league side Brentford on Saturday. The London club will look to use this opportunity to get back to winning ways.

The challenge of hosting the Los Blancos has already been expressed by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel. The German manager in his own words said, “It is a big challenge and also there’s big excitement around this match and fixture. We know what is coming and it will be a tough challenge.” The German boss is expected to have at least 7 of his most influential players available for the game including Thiago Silva, N’Golo Kante and Mason Mount.

Crossing over to Real Madrid, manager Carlo Ancelotti will not travel with his side today due to a positive Covid 19 test picked up last week in his side’s 2-1 win over Celta Vigo. He may still be with his team if a Covid 19 test comes out negative tomorrow. Real Madrid are set to have their major players available including French talisman Karim Benzema who bagged himself a sensational hattrick in the previous round of the champions league when he and his team pulled off a memorable comeback. Karim Benzema is Real Madrid’s top scorer this season and will certainly look to be influential for his side on Wednesday.

The fixture will be played at Stamford bridge, kicking off at 21:00hrs CAT. Will Chelsea get back to winning ways with the help of their loyal home crowd or will Real Madrid show why they have won the most Champions League titles. You can make bet on this game here.
